Welcome to Our New Interns at the PWR!Gym!

“My name is Anysse Chavez, and I am currently a senior at the University of Arizona studying Public Health. I am a Public Health intern at the PWR!Gym and have aspirations of becoming an occupational therapist. It is evident that physical and occupational therapy, as well as exercise, are beneficial for people with Parkinson’s disease, therefore, I know this experience will be helpful for me in my future career. After only being here for a few short weeks, I know PWR!Gym will allow me to learn, grow, and succeed at reaching my goals!”

“My name is Jennifer O’Connor and I’m a senior at the University of Arizona pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. I will graduate in May 2018. I’m at PWR!Gym completing one of my required Public Health internships. This site stood out to me the most because I have an uncle and next door neighbor who have Parkinson disease. I wanted to learn more about the PWR!Moves© taught in workshops and help the population of people with PD. I have applied to graduate schools on the East Coast for a Master’s in Athletic Training, and should hear back in March or April. After I get my Master’s, I plan to work for a high school.”

We are grateful to have such wonderful interns working with us!
