About you
Alexandra Evancho, PT, DPT is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy. She is a 2018 graduate from UAB’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy program who is pursuing a career in clinical research with a specific focus on neuromodulation combined with traditional physical therapy interventions (including PWR!) to enhance neuroplasticity. She started her career as a Physical Therapist at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA where she worked with individuals with a variety of neurologic diagnoses, including Traumatic Brain Injury, Complex Concussion, Stroke, and Spinal Cord Injury. She then transitioned into a management position at a Senior Living Facility in Atlanta, where she directed and operated therapy & wellness services for a 500-unit CCRC including short term, long term, and outpatient rehabilitation services. Alex continues to practice as a physical therapist at Spain Rehabilitation Center and Galleria Woods Senior Living Faciliy.
