Pay Less Taxes & Support PWR!

Did you know that there’s a pending AZ Bill that would allow you to reduce the state taxes you pay by supporting PWR!? Let us tell you about it!

The current AZ Tax Credit allows residents who make cash contributions to qualifying nonprofits to reduce their state income taxes by up to $400 (single taxpayers) or $800 (joint taxpayers). However, under the current rules, donations made to nonprofit Parkinson’s organizations (such as PWR!) do not qualify you for the tax credit. Why? Because the rules state that the nonprofit must be one that either serves adult AZ residents who require needs-based assistance due to their low-income status, or the nonprofit must serve children who have a chronic illness or physical disability. If approved, SB1027, introduced by State Senator Vince Leach (pictured above with PWR! COO Kim Peute), would broaden the definition of qualifying organizations to include nonprofits who serve individuals (adults and children) with a chronic illness or physical disability. What would this mean for you and PWR!? Currently, PWR! does not meet the criteria for a qualifying charitable organization since Parkinson’s is an illness which is typically categorized as one that affects adults and not children. However, if the SB1027 is approved, organizations such as PWR! would be added to the list of qualifying charitable organizations. This change would provide AZ residents the opportunity to reduce their state taxes through a credit for donations made to organizations such as PWR!.
