Progressive Aerobic Training
Pushing yourself to work harder and faster than you think you can.
Goal ~ Optimize Brain Health & Protection
Aerobic exercise is defined as vigorous and sustained physical activity that leads to increased cardiopulmonary function resulting in improved oxygen consumption (maximum oxygen uptake) and blood flow to the brain. This level of intensity typically targets a goal of 60% to 85% maximum heart rate. It may also lead to improvements across multiple systems in people with Parkinson disease! How can you NOT do it?!
Potential motor/nonmotor targets of aerobic exercise!

PD Specific Skill Acquisition
Use PWR!Moves to reinforce strong function of dopamine circuits.
Goal ~ Optimize Brain Repair and Adaptation
PD-specific skill acquisition training needs to involve the DAILY repetition and rehearsal of big and fast, functional (habitual) movements. The loss of dopamine interferes with your most automated movements. They become small and slow, and without training, they restrict your level of activity and ability to participate in LIFE. We recommend starting with the BASIC4 | PWR!Moves, and then learning to integrate bigger/faster whole body movements into everything you like to
do (walking, yoga, dance, etc.)!
