Living Well with Parkinson’s Disease

In early October, PWR!Gym therapist and workshop faculty, Jennifer Bazan-Wigle, participated in the “Living Well with Parkinson’s Disease” 2-day retreat in South Dakota for 24 people with Parkinson’s Disease and their partners. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness of exercise and wellness for people with Parkinson disease living in rural communities.  The event was hosted by the outpatient therapy department at Avera McKenna Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Jennifer helped train a team of volunteers to teach morning pole walking and 6 hours of a variety of PWR!Moves group exercise classes over the course of the 2 day event.  She also gave talks on exercise and nutrition.  We are so grateful to one of our former PWR! Retreat attendees, Mary Tidwell for making this event possible.  We are so proud of the PWR!Moves Certified Therapists at Avera, with special thanks to Stephanie Myers and Scott Vanden Bosch, for their passion in promoting the Parkinson Exercise Revolution across the US!  Thank you Jennifer for your commitment and expertise and for being willing to share your knowledge with South Dakota.
