YOUR NAME exercise classes apply the Basic 4 | PWR! Moves, created by neuroscientist, Dr. Becky Farley, to directly address the motor and cognitive issues through 4 foundational movements established as the building blocks of FUNction. This class is designed to increase balance, flexibility and posture, improve gait and prevent falls. Research has proven that when implemented correctly, exercise can slow the progression of many key Parkinson’s related symptoms and greatly improve the quality of life for people with Parkinson’s disease.

YOUR NAME exercise class teaches Exercise4BrainChange® techniques utilizing the foundational principles of PWR!Moves to target the motor and non motor symptoms of Parkinson disease that interfere with everyday movement (rigidity, bradykinesia, incoordination, and automaticity). Created by Dr. Becky G. Farley, PWR!Moves are the building blocks for everyday movement and performed with large amplitude, high effort, and attention to action in multiple postures. This PWR! model also integrates other essential research-based exercise components to optimize brain health and learning, and to better address all the motor, cognitive, and emotional symtoms of PD.

PWR!therapists or PWR!instructors Make FUNction Exercise by training an attentional focus on high effort for optimal large amplitude FUNctional movements. PWR!Moves target different PD-symptoms that interfere with everyday movement (rigidity, bradykinesia, incoordination, and automaticity) by varying the conditions of practice to require rhythmical sustained effort, repetitive effort, or sequenced movements while learning to divide attention for common dual motor or cognitive tasks. PWR!Moves are a standalone exercise program, but they can be implemented into ANY exercise program for greater benefit.
