I graduated from Oakland University with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2004, and completed the Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy program in 2008. I’ve been a STOTT Pilates Mat and Reformer instructor since 2010. My career has been primarily in outpatient orthopedics, treating adults of all ages, including people with PD who happened to a muscle or joint issue. Then last year, one of my patients returned with a new diagnosis of PD. I reviewed the literature and we started working out vigorously–we started boxing together. I learned about Rock Steady Boxing and went to training camp in January 2017. This experience shifted my paradigm. When I returned to Baltimore, with the help of Mind Body PT, we opened Rock Steady Boxing Charm City–a boxing program just for people with PD! I am excited to be incorporating PWR!Moves® in to both my clinical practice and in to my community fitness programming.
Mind Body Physical Therapy & Wellness Center offers each patient one-on-one, hour long sessions for physical therapy. We are a physical therapist owned private practice and take most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Blue Choice. In addition to traditional PT, we also offer Pilates training (private, semi-private and group classes), have a studio full of Gratz Pilates apparatuses, and a well-equipped boxing gym on-site for community fitness and wellness programming.
Mind Body is proud to offer Rock Steady Boxing Charm City, where PWR!Moves are incorporated in to the warm-up, strength circuit, and cool down in every class. This is a non-contact boxing fitness exercise class specifically for people with PD. Classes currently run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons.
